Plex for Mac

Hey guys I've been using plea recently and i'm having some problems with the subtitles, they are not working. I've already enabled all the options and chose the languages and everything but when i play the movies subtitles won't come.
Any suggestions?

How are the subtitles stored? Inside an extra file or inside the video file? With the video file in the same directory or in another directory?

They are not stored. I don't have them. Plex has this function that automatically gets them in Internet right? But it is not working.
