I still like the channel app better. It does the exact same thing almost, and for only $25. With Plex this seems weird, you to have your Plex server running for I think live tv to work. And I don’t understand the cloud service for movies.

It seems you pay $150 (Plex pass) for the privilege of live tv, but to upload movies to the cloud. You have to pay that cloud service (Like Google or Dropbox) an additional cost to increase your cloud storage. And upload your files to them, store those files. Seems too much of a hassle for me. And too expensive if I include the amount to pay for a Plex Pass, and to increase my cloud storage every month.

Isn't the $150 a lifetime pass though, not a yearly price?

Before people waste their money on the Plex Pass expecting a great DVR experience on their Apple TV.

-it's currently so buggy that watching Live TV will crash out within 10-15min
- skipping back and forth using the remote barely works.
-you can't see a program guide
-you can't start a recording
-you can't watch a recording in progress
-you can't check the recording schedule

Among many other missing features...

DON'T BOTHER!

Well, if those are must have features for you, which I get, you have all of them through the tv tuner itself. I mean, if your using DVR, your watching stuff you have previously recorded, right?? I go into DVR and watch or "Binge" on all the Judge Judy I recorded for the week. Why would I need a program guide while doing that? As far as
checking recording schedule,
watching a recording in progress,
seeing a program guide, all things you can do right from the tv tuner. I can check recording schedule from plex app in ios, and start a recording and check recording schedule so not sure why you cant in ATV. I sit and play NHL 09 while watching live tv through Plex and its never crashed after hours and hours of watching. So, none of the issues you mention seem to apply with the ios app, or in Roku that I use it on. Maybe its your ATV or not sure what tv tuner you have, could be that.

DVBLink is an alternative for watching free2air TV on the ATV. There is an ATv app that is a bit clunky but works with a network tuner (eg HDHomerun) and a macOS/PC app called DVBServer (which is purchased after a trial period). It does have recording capability that I have not tried.
