Hello,

I am trying my hand at plexconnect (I haven't posted on the plex forums yet, as this forum seems to be a little more active).

I am using the following install:

http://www.appletvhacks.net/2013/06/14/how-to-install-plex-on-apple-tv-windows-tutorial/

and also

http://www.appletvhacks.net/2013/06...roken-apple-tv-2-and-apple-tv-3-mac-tutorial/

I have tried to install it on both my machines. I can get the certificates, I can get python installed (windows box).

But the part that hangs is when I launch the "PlexConnect.py" file, it does not discover any of the available servers I have up and running. It hangs.

I have tried modifying the file based off this:

OPTIONAL: edit the line “return ‘8.8.8.8’ # google public DNS”, replacing the “8.8.8.8” with your DNS server, the one you noted down from the ATV before you changed it (if this was your gateway you can instead choose to use your ISP’s DNS server).

Didn't work.

So I am stuck and have been searching for an answer over the past few days and thought I might as well post it here.

Spec:

Apple TV 7.0.2

Windows XP SP3

Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10.2

Servers < plural??? Are you running Plex Media Server? Have you verified on :apple:tv that the profile you created is actually installed?

If by Plex Media Server you mean this:

https://plex.tv/downloads

Yes. I had one on my Mac Pro and one on my Windows box. They were not running at the same time, but plexconnect was unable to see any of them.

AppleTV profile? The guide I was using didn't mention anything about a profile on my AppleTV.

Plex forums not active? Really? As a ninja there I can assure you the forums are very active and full of help.

I am sure they are, just thought I would try here as it seemed more that is all. I will be posting the same question there shortly.....
