This looks to be one of the first complete golf apps out there that uses GPS to calculate distance. However, nowhere do I see a list of courses to choose from, etc which leaves me wondering how accurate this is and if they use course based GPS files.

Anyone planning to kick this apps tires? Would love to hear some feedback.

Thanks!

Leslie

Yeah, I took the plunge this morning. I have been waiting for this app, or one similar since July 11th. I havent had a chance to play a round with it yet, but so far it looks very cool. The app is absolutely beautiful. As far as the GPS is concerned, I am a little confused. It doesn't seem to use actual course data, rather it has templates....so you basically have to play a round and set it up by setting your start location from each hole on the tee box and then enter the hole yardage. I cant imagine how this is very accurate. I feel like this will be a waste of money unless there is an actual bank of courses (like the golfmapz guy has). However, there does look like a ton of room for improvement, and it is really well thought out.

As far as a sky caddie replacement - It looks to me like the race for a true golf gps unit on the iphone is still on
