Is it? This seems to be the big question posed by the series.

Gilligan specializes in creating unsympathetic characters who find themselves in dire circumstances of their own creation or beyond their control (or both). But he never mocks these people. There but for the grace of God go I, he's saying. Under the same circumstances, Carol, Saul or Walter could be any of us.
I’d wanna be part of the hive

Imagine all people had the best and ALL skills possessed until the unique consciousness kicks in.

Are you crazy??

PS: why would you limit the evolution for your one selfish idea, ie to be YOU???

If only for those who haven't tried out this series yet, nearly all of the world's population survives the infection (whether it's a virus or something else hasn't been revealed).

(SPOILERS!)

“They” mentioned something like 800 million died during the transition, so a lot didn’t survive.

Also, it was pretty clearly shown and explained to be an RNA virus, engineered from gene sequences received from a deep space data transmission (aliens?). Did you miss the first episode?

I’m sure we can expect a plot twist or two later in the series, however…

So far, the series is a bit of a riff on "The Invasion of the Body Snatchers,"

Definitely!

watched all 3 episode and waited for something to happen, its like in slow motion. And Carol is sich a Karen it is barely endurable. the 3rd episode almost nothing happened, except her being annoying...

Carol is an idiot

I get the uniqueness but that’s an obsolete trait for a species which evolved and are acting like one organism

See 🐜 ants , bees. 🐝

from wiki - "Antihero (sometimes spelled as anti-hero or two words anti hero)[1] is a literary term that can be understood as standing in opposition to the traditional hero, i.e., one with high social status, well-liked by the general populace, and given a particular role to play. Although antiheroes may sometimes perform actions that most of the audience considers heroic, they continue because they must, not because they believe they are the right person for the job."

I don't feel crazy, but thanks for asking!

Viewers will react differently to Carol's (and humanity's) situation in the series, and the reactions will probably change as the story unfolds. I'm feeling as if this is the point.

In the first episode we see the outer space transmission is discovered to be some sort of gene sequence, but it is never stated that it's a virus. My guess is this was deliberately left ambiguous in order to allow for further plot development.

You might want to go back and read the article we are commenting upon before determining whether my clarification was appropriate.

there are antiheroes. I am well aware what that is, thank you very much :D. But this doesn't make her less annoying. It may irritate me personally even more, because i am not american...

Yeah, I get it

That’s why we also have the village idiot
We need antithesis as opposed to juxtaposition ( pun intended )
HOWEVER

AGAIN

One mind, all skills and one purpose

One cannot self destruct, can they?

Shooting oneself in the foot will be taken off the dictionary 😂😂🤌🏻🤌🏻

FWIW, I deffo wanna live in that world part of one consciousness, one ‘organism’.

I like the show but middle America will be turned off by the same sex couple stuff. But whatever. They don’t have to watch. They probably didn’t watch much of Breaking Bad or Better Call

I give this 3 seasons.

The podcast is entertaining.

Like other folks posting, the show has been awesome! Really enjoyed the story and pacing. I’m hoping they dive more into where the message came from.

Carol is one of a handful who hasn't been changed by it. So far, the series is a bit of a riff on "The Invasion of the Body Snatchers," but seeing as this is a Vince Gilligan creation, we can be sure it is going somewhere else entirely. Rhea Seehorn is terrific as Carol, another Gilligan character we love to hate.
Some spoilers, beyond what's in the trailers or MacRumors, and it would be kind to delete this.
