I have always been a plus size user. I downgraded in terms of size 2 years ago, because the iPhone X only came in 1 size. I figured the iPhone X offered a similar screen real estate while being super easy to operate with 1 hand only so why not give it try? But I never really liked the iPhone X size as it is too thin for me. Also I find typing with the iPhone X harder than with my old iPhone 6S plus as the keyboard is smaller (due to the thinner size).

Did someone upgrade from an iPhone X to a iPhone 11 Pro Max only for having more screen real estate and not have buyer remorse?

(I don’t care about cameras on the phone and the battery life of my iPhone X is fine. I don’t need to bring a charger with me or a powerbank)

I had a X and I’ve never had a plus size phone before. I’ve tried them and played with friends phones, but the size was always too big and I never really liked the form factor.

My thought was that it’s great if you have a bag, but it’s way too big for a pocket.
This year I was planning on upgrading to the Pro anyway, but for some reason at the order page, I randomly decided to go for the Pro Max.

I couldn’t be happier.

I love the size, the additional real estate is fantastic, it’s amazing for watching movies and videos, and I’ve had no issues with putting it in a pocket. It took me a couple of hours to get used to the bigger phone, but when I used my friends X the other day, I found it too small.

It’s amazing what you get used to, but I can honestly say that I am a total convert and I’d struggle to go back.
Love my Max and absolutely no buyers remorse whatsoever.

Jason

Remember if your buying direct from Apple and you decide the phone isn’t what you want, you can return within 14 days giving you enough time to test one of the Plus models out.

I went from the X to the 11 Pro Max. Yeah at the time there was no Max and the X worked ok but I knew I wanted a bigger screen. I was actually going to go with the XS Max but the 11 Pro Max was about a week from being able to preorder so I just waited.

I am a huge fan of the Pro Max. The bigger screen just works well for me. The X was smaller thus more pocket friendly I guess. I went from the 7 plus to the X to the Pro Max.

now I’m totally used to it and it’s no issue carrying around. To me it doesn’t seem big anymore really. I’m probably on the minority but I actually wish the Pro Max was bigger just a bit in height.

it’s been a pleasure to use. The camera impressed me every time I use it. The screen is great (I use dark mode) and the battery is awesome.

I did the same thing two years ago, for the same reason. I absolutely LOVE getting back to a larger screen with this iPhone 11 Pro Max.

I went from plus size phones to the x. Jumped on the Xs max when it was released and now have the 11 pro max. Never looked back. The extra screen, extra battery easily makes up for the larger phone.

if you buy from Apple online you technically get up to 28 days. If you initiate a return they give you 14 days to send it hack, so if you set it up on Your last possible day you can take advantage of the full 28 days.

I played again today in the Apple store with the iPhone 11 Pro Max. I can’t justify spending $1500 unfortunetly.

I will wait for next year.

I downsized to the XS last year for size reasons (coming from 8+).

This year, I went Max. Very happy with it—the screen and battery are worth the size difference.

If you're in the UK/EU and you buy anything from any online shop you have 14 days to return for any reason.

Hi
i have never had a big iPhone until this year. Always felt it was to big in hand. For some reason at check out I said what the heck I have 14 days to return so i bought the Max. Glad I did. It took a few days for me to get use to it and on occasion it still feels big but the trade off for battery life and the extra real estate is worth it. I would say go for it and if you don’t like for some reason return it. With that being said you have already had one so the transition shoukdnt be much of a problem for you.....

I went from XS to the 11 Pro Max and have been very happy. I used to have the 7+ which I loved but decided to downsize to the XS last year for better 1-handed use. I eventually decided I prefer the bigger screen and bigger keyboard and went with the Max size this year and have absolutely no regrets. Also the battery life is way, way better on the 11 Max.

Tried an 11 Pro Max for a week and decided to return it. It’s just too big and cumbersome. For people who like holding their phones with both hands at all times, I guess it’s fine. I used to have a 6S Plus for 2 years. I was actually fine with it, but I feel like the X size was better for me, so I’m keeping my 11 Pro, which I also bought.
Also, I compared my 11 Pro to my 11 Pro Max side by side for days doing different tests. Battery wise the 11 Max Pro doesn’t really have the edge over the smaller model. They both were losing the same amount of battery doing the same tasks. Maybe in some different scenarios the Max would really edge out the small one, but for web browsing they’re almost the same.
It comes down to personal preference, so I don’t think that other people would be able to give you some universal advice. You need to use it for some time to figure it out. For instance, when I was playing with it in store, I thought, “oh, I think I’ll be fine”. However, when using it for prolonged periods of time, my hand started aching. Also, the Max is too tall in my hand as well. I always need to re-adjust it feeling it might fall out of my hand. Carrying Max in my pocket was also a unique situation. In my case I found it stretching pockets up to the point when it started uncomfortably hitting against my body. While walking it felt like I had a book in my pocket sometimes.

Had the X and did not like it. One of the reasons was that I found it harder to type on as a former 6 Plus user. The 5.5"/6.5" iPhones are the best for typing if you use two hands as the keys are largest compared to the rest of the lineup.

I upgraded from the X to the XS max last year because I missed the larger phone. I don't remember any other advantages the XS max had over the X, but it still felt worth it due to the size change.

I loved the size of the X when it came out but gave the Max a try for a week then traded it for the Pro. For my use, the extra size wasn’t of any benefit. I don’t play video games and I watch video on my iPad so I saved my $100 and bought a couple of cases. Don’t know what I’m going to do next year if the rumors are true about the sizes.

My eye doctor suggested I would find it easier with a larger phone. Went from the SX to the SX Max to the 11 Pro Max. Love it.

Max is too big for me, and the battery difference is not important to me, if it had a better camera then yes I would consider it but it is identical in terms of camera performance (same lenses, sensors, and so on) so for me iPhone 11 Pro because I like the more discreet size and the ability to shoot quickly and easily one-handed. The Max is awesome but remains a bit unwieldy for me as a one-handed camera.

I went from the X to the 11PM this time and really like it. If you are already into the larger phones you will really like the Max.

I had all of the plus size iPhones and once the X debuted, I upgraded to that. I kept the X for 18 months before upgrading to the XS Max in March this year. Next month, I’ll be upgrading to the 11 Pro Max.

Using the X for 18 months was torture for me. The screen size was too small for me. I wasn’t worried about 1 handed use, as I still used my X with 2 hands when typing. The extra screen real estate and battery life on the Max size phones were worth it for me.
