If you slice the cheess (about 5mm thick) then fry it in a little oil until golden brown. Then make soft scrambled eggs and some toast. Put the sliced cheese on the toast and the eggs on top. Mmmmm Yummy.

The poaching pan I have doubles as a frying pan too, with a sort of lid for the poaching bit.

*drooling* mmm that sounds delicious.

My favourite way to have scrambled eggs is with camembert/brie cheese, chives and smoked salmon on sourdough toast.

As for poaching, I've tried the swirling method a few times with mixed results. I think the amount of vinegar and how much the water is swirling is the key.

The way I get perfect boiled eggs is bringing the water with the eggs in it to the boil, and then take it OFF the heat. Let the eggs sit in the hot water for about 8-10 mins for soft boiled (perfect firm white and runny yolk) and 15 mins for hard boiled.

If we're going to talk eggs how do people scramble? I know a guy who cracks his into a cup and then cooks it with steam from his cappuccino machine. (?)
In a microwave - everybody thinks I'm weird but it works really well.
That clingfilm trick looks great. I wanted a poached egg yesterday but couldn't be bothered with all the cleaning.

I don't eat eggs too often. But reading this thread definitely made me hungry enough to go heat up some chicken nuggets. :D

It is!!

I love it, it has the added bonus that I don't need to add salt.
Tomato soup and eggs are the only things I add salt to. As Haloumi is quite a salty cheese I have no need to add extra salt!!

:) :)

I always buy free-range and organic eggs. Happy chickens = better tasting eggs.
And then they take the "happy" chickens and kill them and but the once "happy" chicken and putting it in a "Happy" meal

I tried the cling-film method this morning... it looked pretty minging but it did work. I think I undercooked the egg a touch though. When I opened up the little bag, the yolk split. Oh well... practice makes perfect!

Hmmm... I may give it a try tomorrow... Bugger, just remembered we've run out of cling film.:(
