Podcast app that speeds up play

Looking for a free or single time purchase app which will play podcasts at faster than 1x speed.

I was using overcast, however I have since wiped my telephone and the app does not show on my computer (unable to get the old version).

Should still be in the purchased tab in the App Store.

Anyway, the simple answer, is Apple's own Podcast app. It can do 1x, 1.5x, and 2x speeds, oh yeah, and 1/2, but I doubt that's useful.

I prefer Pocket Casts, it allows variable speed as well as trimming silence.

I don't know if the current version 3 is a different application than the old one, but it's free/ad supported, with a "premium" option, so you may need to find the new version separately. Version 3 requires iOS 10.2 or later so that may be why it's not showing for you.

I love and use Downcast which can do that also (5x, 1x, 1.25x, 1.5x, 2x, 2.25x, 2.5x and 3x speed playback). Unfortunately it has been a while that the app was updated but it's still working fine though with the latest iOS10.2.1 version. As suggested you should be able to get your version without paying for it again via the App Store for Overcast. Pocket Casts is also really nice.

If you paid once for the earlier versions you can restore your purchase and you won't see ads.

I just tried again Overcast (free version) and it looks really handy that they have this widget now as well. However I couldn't find a way to:
- create a playlist, I can select podcasts but can't press 'save' somewhere?
- couldn't find an option to only select downloaded podcasts and e.g. making it smart that any new downloaded podcast is added to it and the ones that I've listened to are removed from the playlist. Like I now use in Downcast.
