I use overcast mainly but it’s royally annoying me now. I think I’ve found a bug that’s stopping the watch seeing episodes and podcasts

anyway, tried outcast, and hate the interface.

can someone suggest a player that works on the watch and phone, keeping sync? I also like to speed the episodes up as normal speed is just too slow I find. I’ve the cellular 5 Watch

thx

iCatcher.

I tried them all, in fact paying the upcharge for Overcast and Castro to gain the ability to import .mp3 files. iCatcher does all that out of the box, and better.

iCatcher syncs content from iPhone to Watch for autonomous play much more reliably and flexibly than anything else. (I wish I could say it transfers more quickly, but the iPhone-to-Watch link is inherently slow.) See my post here for more information. It imports audiobook files too-- such as a 400MB one I tried, and sync'd without issue. Took a while but I just went about my business with the Watch on my wrist and the iPhone in my pocket.

The developer is nicely responsive too, and his focus on functionality is appreciated.

Look no further!

Thanks mate. Will look into it.

Intending to try Outcast again too. Bought it for the ability to stream, but I just prefer Overcast interface for the extra info about episodes etc.

If you have a bug with Overcast is it not better to delete it and re-add than just bin it completely?

I use it for podcasts and I average 2 hours or so a day for podcast listening, most of which is on my watch. The transfer rate across is pretty good, no? Plus smart playlists work better than anything else I've used.

I keep trying to go back to the Apple Podcasts app but that thing does not help itself!

I reinstalled three times and replicate the issue every time. The watch stops seeing all the subscribed podcasts on my phone. And as a result, episodes I’ve transferred from the shows it can’t see, don’t appear on the watch

I’ve not tried playlists at all

I agree. I sure hope Apple gives some love soon to their podcast app both iOS and watchOS. I send them feedback weekly. I really don't understand why watch downloads require a charger to complete

Question for Overcast. So if I set podcasts to stream vs download and on my watch I select an episode to play, does it stream via Bluetooth to the iPhone or WiFi. I know the Apple app streams via WiFi

I completely erased overcast, reinstalled it and created a new user account on the app. Downloaded my podcasts again and episodes and all is syncing correctly with the watch
