Is the HomePod supposed to be able to pick up where you left a podcast on your iPhone?

I’m using the Apple podcast app and asked it to play the episode I had been listening to and the response I got was “sorry you have no unlistened episodes”.

I thought was a strange response and was wondering if it maybe wasn’t syncing my podcasts properly.

Yeah, I’ve been having the same issue. I just manually tell it to play the last episode of a podcast I listen to. Curious to see if people know how to get siri to play a particular episode. I probably listen to podcast more than music so hopefully this isn’t a major issue.

Yeah, podcasts seem a bit hit and miss. I can play things that are marked as unplayed, but if it's not "new" in my phone it doesn't seem to work very well. I can't seem to get them to play a specific episode title for instance. "Play 'I Thought It Would Be Easier' from 'This American Life'", she couldn't seem to figure out.

Best bet may be to AirPlay until they improve it lol.

I started airplaying an episode and stopped. Then later the homepod kept playing that episode if i asked it to play that podcasts even if it was an older episode. May be a good way to trick to get homepod to be on the episode you are on.

I just thought to ask her to play a podcast and she said I wasn’t subscribed to any podcasts which is strange. I’m using the Apple podcasts app and they sync to my computer and Apple TV just fine.

Came on to post the same problem. My podcasts sync to my iMac and iPhone but Siri on HomePod says I’m not subscribed to any podcasts.
