I've got an old iPod Photo which is somewhat of a survivor.

Any suggestions for how to best buff out some of the worst of the scratches on the back and, if possible, on the display?

    Thanks...

You can polish the back with some high grit sandpaper. It takes some work, it can be done.

For the screen I suggest toothpaste, buy your mileage will vary.

I talked to a man who does watch repairs, who showed me what he uses.
So, jeweler's rouge with a soft polishing bob is what I use.
    Lots of info here: http://www.pjtool.com/jewelers-rouge-chart.aspx
Chart shows a variety of abrasiveness. Use the furthest to the right end that does the job. The "jeweler's rouge" is usually your best choice.

Any thoughts on Brasso? That seems to keep showing up in Google searches.
