I always thought macrumors deals with political issues with care. While I understand the admins have little control over what ads are displayed, ads from a certain group(s) of people are surely distasteful (to the opposite groups). Isn't there any way to stop this sort of North Korean style propaganda?? :(

From our FAQ:

What do I do about annoying ads?
MacRumors uses an advertising service that supplies ads from a pool. We do not select the specific ads shown or the specific advertisers who participate.

If you find a particular ad especially annoying (e.g., an ad that is oversized, obscures the page, moves around, has sound, or promoted a shady business), post a screenshot in our Site and Forum Feedbackforum and tell us which URL it links to. If we know that, we can ask to have it removed from the ad pool. Since ads may come from different sources, or come in different forms, we sometimes have to remove several variations. We appreciate your help in reporting them.

We need to pay the bills, so advertising is necessary. However, we suppress ads for our paid members. If that interests you, see How do I contribute to MacRumors.com? or go directly to your Account Upgradespage.

I believe there is a word called "tolerance", again, you can not micromanage life. MacRumors is a data base to share information, is not your living room, the internet is not a place to hide. You have a world where you a part of, not this virtual non sense.

Funny you are asking tolerance against non-tolerant (to some) ads. Got your point but as a regular user, I would still strongly prefer not see any political propaganda ad.

So are you saying you are okay with political ads, as long the the ad is promoting a political position you agree with?

Well, seems like the position of not seeing any political (propaganda) ads was the stated one.

You are trying to reframe my question. Who decides what is a political ad vs. what is propaganda?

I am asking the plain question if OP is completely against political ads on MR, or only those he disagrees with. OP's comment implies he would be okay with some political ads, ie. those not from "certain groups of people."

Maybe it's me but anything political is basically propaganda (one is basically more of a descriptor of the other), so saying no to one or the other or both is basically the same in my mind, and how I read that posters statement.

any political ad is a propaganda... whether i am for or against the ad content is irrelevant :) so just to clarify, i prefer NOT to see ANY political advert :)
