idk about you guys but i'm the 2.0.
just kidding.
who wouldn't get the 2.53. the small difference in processing power can and WILL have a huge increase on your day to day computing.
Hopefully you're still kidding.

I wouldn't be so sure. :/
On Geekbench, the 2.26GHz MacBook Pro received a score of 3126, when the 2.53GHz score several hundred points higher at 3436.

Anyone got Benchmarks of the 2.26GHz and 2.53GHz with Snow Leopard?? I'm also stuck with which one to get!!
I want to do:
Word Processing
Photoshop
Intenet
iTunes
DVD Ripping
SketchUp
Few Games... Sims etc
Etc....
Which one is best??
for games it's doesn't really matter, as the bottleneck here is the 9400m, not the cpu.
dvd ripping and photoshop you may see some benefit with the 2.53....what i mean by benefit is instead of something taking 66 seconds to do on the 2.27 will take around 60 seconds on the 2.53, or 66 mins/ 60 seconds. whether this difference is worth the price difference is really up to you. i personally bought the 2.27, as I can't justify the price for an 2.53.
+1. Most logical comment in this thread. Same goes for anyone thinking about spending the money on the 3.06GHz proc in the 15" and 17".$180 for .27GHz is the biggest waste of money I've ever heard.
The fact that the P8400 and the P8700 both retails in the public marketplace for the same price of $225 shows that the P8700 is used by Apple as a marketing ploy.
Add to the fact that 3rd party RAM/HD is almost always faster and you have a bad deal.
You are essentially giving Apple at least $200 in gross profit (on top of the profit of the 2.26) if you go with the 2.53.
