I work in Market Research and this is somewhat correct. If you base it on census, it generally breaks out as <18, 18-24, 25-34, 35-44, 45-54, 55-64, 65+

Although I don't always agree with the 25-34 range.

Regardless of age, the level of behavior in this forum borders on immaturity.

iPhone users are certainly a different breed than Mac users.

Why not? Its generally well known that most users are 15-30, so its more useful to split up that age range into smaller segments, vs 50-59 where there are relatively few buyers.
Basically trying to extract the most demographic information in a reasonable number of choices.

The majority of users are no where near 15. You must be really young if you think so. That's ridiculous. The first option should be 18 and under. Then intervals of 5. This poll is flawed.

Best you can do posting on poll here. Should be generally indicative of a similar pattern. Everyone who has an iPhone 4 has access to the internet and should have access to this forum.

True, but here's where I disagree. How many 40 y/o + iPhone 4 users do you expect are realistically spending their time actively in this forum or even lurking in comparison to those who aren't? I'm willing to bet that the number is very small in relation to the 'younger' crowd. I'm 31 with an iP4 and my mom is in her 50's with one and does not go in the forums and my dad is in his 60's with one and doesn't go in the forums either.
