Hello everyone,

This is an effort to get more consistent data around this.
Please, vote and we'll see what the data shows :)

You might want to clarify exactly what you are looking for in terms of issues. Otherwise you’re going to be getting people saying yes for anything from pwm headaches to people who don’t think the display is bright enough in the sun to people who don’t think the display is dark enough at night to people who got a display with bad pixels to people who think the display is too yellow or too blue to who knows what else.

You've made a good point. For this one I'm going to keep it to the yellow issue. Could it be that it's not possible to change it now? Could someone help me with that?

Just compared my iPhone 12 Pro max/iPhone 11 Pro the same brightness with True Tone on/off my 11 look piss yellow...
My iPhone 12 pro max is week 44

As I wrote in the yellow tint thread, mine is so bad that I can instantly notice it when holding it next to any other device. It's so bad that I have started using dark mode exclusively.

I just spoke with Apple support. They advised they are aware of the issue, are doing an investigation; will call me to add mine to it.
It would be great if you can share the updates here, I’ve returned mine and received the second iPhone 12 mini today..still the same with yellow tint screen :(

I really hope its a software color calibration issue but I doubt it.... getting a replacement, shopping or doing anything in an Apple store right now is such a huge hassle... You have to make an appointment for any little thing, get on a line, and then they are rushing you out of there once you actually get in.

They seem to think it is a software issue. I also believe this. Sent in diagnostics, in touch with senior support, they are forwarding it to engineering. They will have something within 5 business days. They advised they dont feel a replacement or repair would fix this issue.

My 12 pro Max is definitely more yellow than my 11 pro Max. I don’t think it’s as dramatic as some others here but it is definitely noticeable.

I picked up the 12 PM and gave my wife the 11PM (ha). The display on the 11PM is excellent: clear, crisp, white looks great. My 12PM is dull, yellow, and when adjusting colors can go slightly blue. With true tone off, it is better.

My 12 Pro screen is uniform with no visible defects. The screen temperature is a bit warmer than my previous XS. However, with TT and NS disabled, the difference is negligible. It seems TT is more aggressive on the 12 range. It does not bother me though.

Seems to be what everyone is saying. I think it will be fixed.

Same thing here. Without TT the screen is a bit more yellow. Enabling TT on both the X and Mini and the difference gets much bigger and the Mini is just terrible.

TT might be fixable with Software.

But even without TT my screen is a bit more yellow than my other devices, which makes it hard to get used to.

My 12 Pro Max is definitely more yellow than my 11 Pro. The whites on the 11 Pro are bright and crisp. The 12 Pro Max looks like True Tone is on when it’s not.

My 12 Pro Max looks terrible without True Tone on--the display is way too blue (although that seems to be what some users prefer).

With True Tone on, the greys are balanced and neutral.

My Pro Max is a pleasure to use.

The display on my original 12 was perfect (for me). Sadly I dropped it and completely smashed the back of the phone. Received a replacement 12 from Apple on Friday and noticed the screen has a smidge warmer tint than my original 12. Nothing I'm going to complain about (since I shouldn't of dropped my phone in the first place).

I have my 12 mini compare next to 11 pro max, it is way more warm and yellow than the pro max.

Do we really need another thread, those thinking it will be a software update are kidding themselves, has been going on since the iP8 at least, and no update.

Yellow is only observed when you place one phone next to another phone.
Same here. My iPhone 12 Mini has a warm color, yes. But this is normal for OLED and I like it, don't need to turn on TrueTone. But way less and way better than many 11 Pro (max) I tested or had my eyes on. But when I compare it next to my 11 (LCD, reddish cold color), it seems a bit yellow. Would never recognize this without a comparison display next to my Mini. My Mini has the "not 100% black pixels" problem but the display color is fine, even good for an OLED iPhone. The only OLED iPhone with good, less warm color, was the X. After that displays got yellower and yellower with each generation. Not so with my Mini, thank god. Lucky.

But I also do believe, because of experience myself, that there are definitely displays out there which are horribly yellowish. I have seen them the generations before.
