Do you (or will you) shower with the Watch on?

I voted No, but it's not because of "the risk". Who wears a watch in the shower? that would be like showering with my glasses on.

I tried it just because I was curious to see whether there was ANY benefit.

I even called my husband from my wrist. ;)

I controlled music. I sent a text.

Personally? I don't like it much. Shower time is quiet, relaxing time. I don't like the feeling of drenched Milanese loop, either.

I'd probably wear it in the tub if I was sitting there awhile to avoid needing to have my phone near the tub.

All that said, I think my watch is behaving a wee bit sluggishly since that shower. My husband tells me it's probably all the apps I have loaded plus my imagination, but I'm not yet convinced.

I don't really recommend it in the shower unless you're expecting an urgent call.

Meh, I was planning on it but I'm not so sure now.
Maybe once the watches are more available. I do have Apple Care, I just wouldn't want to have to wait for a replacement.

I shower every month whether I need it or not, so I don't see a problem taking the watch off for 5 minutes that infrequently. Then again I don't see a problem with leaving it on for 5 minutes in the water. Well it's 3 1/2 weeks before my next one, so I'll decide by then and report back in this thread.

We will be waiting with baited breath (and closed nostrils)!

To shower or not to shower?

With the apple watch, that is. My friend and I happened to walk by the Apple Store today and of course I had to go in and play with the watch since mine won't be arriving until May 14. My friend started asking me what I plan to use the watch for, and I started with telling him that I'm excited to control the music on my iPhone from the watch when I'm in the shower (I have a waterproof Bluetooth speaker) and replying to texts in the shower. There was an apple employee standing there who overheard me saying that and she gave me a look and said "I hope you're getting AppleCare on that then". I told her there's been a bunch of tests done on the watch testing the limits of how water resistant it is and that a regular shower doesn't even come close to that limit. Then another employee chimes in and says "yeah, but the documentation does say not to shower with it, so I definitely won't be doing that". Regardless, I definitely will be getting AppleCare+. But what do you guys think, to shower with the watch or not?

There are a lot of shower threads already.

After I work out I bring the watch in the shower, start my shower with it on, take it off, rinse it off, put it aside, wash, grab it and leave.

So far it's alright. The thing gets kind of nasty when I run and it's hot out.

On a side note, sweaty finger tips and tiny app icons SUCK.

Why didn't you say to the Apple employees that Tim Cook said he showers with his watch all the time, and see how they respond to that?

Nope, I wouldn't but I also don't have a bluetooth speaker in my shower that I am dying to control with my watch. :D

Don't show with it on... I've done it a few time but then you have to remove it and dry off the back and your wrist. Showers are not that long not need to take it with you.

I take my normal watch off anyhow (not rings though) and I guess id do same with my watch when it arrives.

Although I cannot see why it would effect the watch in the shower unless it was very high pressure, a shower is just like very heavy rain, and I certainly won't be worrying about my watch in heavy rain.

My worry wouldn't be the water as much as the detergents. My :apple: watch gets wet everyday at work and has been fine so far since April 24.

If I knew that before just now, I would have.

Lol. The speaker has back and forward buttons on it so i pretty much have to make a play list on my iPhone and change songs like that. This way, I'll be able to pick any song from my library while in the shower.

Buy a sucker hook (if you have tiles) and stick it on tile not directly near you, but still in shower. You can still press the screen or Siri it whilst wet in shower.

Those apple employees need to read the restrictions again. It says just the opposite. Plus it rates in up to 1 meter for 30 mins. Shower with it now while it under the 1 year warranty. If it gets water damage Apple will have to cover the replacement

I do a lot in the shower. I shave, I brush my teeth, cut my nails, etc. Plus, it's just soothing. I like to stand under the hot water and just zone out sometimes. My showers are usually between 15-20 mins.

I will shower with it, I'm getting applecare+ either way. This thing is way more water resistant than they're letting on. I told the employee that Apple just says that stuff to cover their asses.

Ok I get it then. Yeah I do the other stuff at the sink.
