I'm curious: Was the GoldenEye videogame successful because people thought the movie was a great one? Or was the movie made more popular, especially in hindsight, because it happened to have a very successful videogame (considered one of the best N64 games)?
I'd say the two were just both independently fan-freaking-tastic.

Mike Teezie, I picked the same exact 3

A View to a Kill is the only one I thought was worth the admission and that was because of Grace Jones. Roger Moore was much better in The Saint.

Moonraker was good as a laugh and Octopussy was good because of Maud Adams, and I believe I've seen Goldfinger because that was the movie with the Toyota 2000 convertibles. Broccoli is better steamed than making movies. Surely, someone will get that.

Goldfinger
The Spy Who Loved Me
Goldeneye

though i actually enjoyed pretty much all of the bond movies (with "die another day" being to over the top for me

I voted for On Her Majesty's Secret Service, The Man with the Golden Gun, and Octopussy.

Though Roger Moore is far from my favorite Bond (4th, after Lazenby, Dalton, and Connery, which sort of alternate between 1-3) I loved TMWTGG and OP.

Sometimes, the villains make the movie...and you can't say that Louis Jourdan and Christopher Lee were anything but magnificent.

OHMSS is one I have a sort of love/hate relationship with. if they had cut out the last scene, it wouldn't depress me so much.

The Living Daylights is a close honorable mention, as is From Russia with Love. After that i'd probably put Goldfinger, if for nothing else, then for Gert Frobe and the sound of the Fort Knox vault door opening :)

Dr. No, Goldfinger, Thunderball are mine. Probably because those were the first Bond films I ever watched. Connery is the consumate Bond, and these movies are what a Bond film should be. I would've added FRWL if I could have chosen it too!

Everyone loves Goldfinger. I voted that and Goldeneye. Haven't seen them all to judge, but them 2 films were incredible. I found Die Another Day to be absolutely **** poor. worse than the Timothy Dalton films.

I loved Pierre Brosnan's Bond in Tomorrow Never Dies. It was the first Bond movie I watched and my favorite.

i voted GoldenEye because i loved the N64 game. I used to play that for hours :D

MoonRaker was a great film as well. quite enjoyed the scene where Rodger Moore was spun in that centrifuge thing. i want to try that some day :p

I've liked every 007 movie except Licence to Kill, because of the graphic torture. Bond films should be fun and not so gritty.

Several reasons why I voted for Goldfinger which really set the pace for the next 3-4 which followed. But one of the main reasons was Shirley Bassey's performance of the Goldfinger theme. Music plays such an important part and she helped make that song a part of history.

In 2004, the American Film Institute released a list of the all time, top 100 songs in American cinemas. The only two Bond film songs to make the list were "Nobody Does It Better" (from The Spy Who Love Me) which ranked #67 on the list, and "Goldfinger" which placed #53 in a list of huge cinema songs like "Somewhere Over the Rainbow".

So, the music in Goldfinger is one of the reasons why it's a classic.

My favorites are the Sean Connery and Pierce Brosnan 007 films.

The new Bond is just plain wrong (i give him 2 bond films total)

By the way I voted for Goldfinger.

..."did you get goldfiinger?... and pu$$y? (classic line)

1. Goldfinger - what can I say that already hasn't been said. It's so perfect.
2. Goldeneye - This brought back Bond, in my opinion. It was also the first one I saw in theaters.
3. Dr. No - The original. It was great.

Other notables: The Spy Who Loved Me, first one I owned. The Lotus was cool.

Mine were:

You only live twice
OHMSS (one of the better storylines, Lazenby wasn't as bad as everyone made out)
The Spy Who Loved Me (saved the franchise)*
The World is Not Enough (best Brosnan Bond - he is in his element here. Opening sequence is stunning.)

* In the opening parachute jump, the stuntman who does it *narrowly* avoids a nasty death. If you watch it closely, one of his skies, which is flying through the air, comes very close to hitting the parachute.

Ack! What are "Casino Royale" and "Never Say Never Again" doing in there? They're not official Bond films, as any true Bond aficionado will tell you.

Bah, this poll has no credibility! ;)

Guess I'm in the minority in liking "The Living Daylights," one of the few Bond films (and actors) to portray the gritty aspect of Fleming character from the novels.

But then I doubt if many people viewing the films have an appreciation of the written works of Fleming. :(

I'm with you totally on that, both film and actor are vastly under rated! And the score was good too. It was the last of the old school Bonds. I thought Tomorrow never dies was Bronans best though I do have a soft spot for Goldeneye, mostly thanks to the amazing N64 game. Spy who Loved me was Rodge's best and Goldfinger was Seans :) and lets not talk about OHMSS but the end was good as was Diana Rigg

Its got to be Goldfinger - it just defines the essence of James Bond at its most peak!
While it's not one of my top three, it is a fantastic Bond flick.

I love it when 007 is on the plane and he wakes up and sees a lady and asks "her" name and she replies, "P_u_s_s_y Galore." 007 then replies, "I must have died and gone to heaven!" :D

Hmm, do I like Bond films?

Let's see, my Mac's names are Scaramanga, Kananga, and Zorin. My ipods names are Solitaire, Domino, and Goodnight. :)

Seek help! ;) :p :D

Seriously, that's great/cool! :D

Following your naming convention, I can just see it now ... when the video iPod is released and you put some porn on it and call it P_ssy Galore! ;)

Bond wise, I liked Timothy Dalton.

me too. I rather prefer my James Bond to be a bit rougher around the edges than the über-smooth Roger Moore/Pierce Brosnan type of guy. I'm really looking forward to Casino Royale.

and re: George Lazenby, he was pretty good. There were a few scenes in that movie that showed him being a cold-hearted b@stard. But he's our b@stard :D

I think that Dalton was closest to the book character, BUT my favorite movies have to be From Russia with Love, OHMSS, and For Your Eyes Only.
