The Apple brand and reliability makes the laptop a big hit, but how were you able to come upon yours:

Poll:
- Parents bought it for you?
- I'm rich!
- I'm not rich, but it was worth a large amount of my budget to buy.
- Bought it for work/business.
- Bought used/last generation model for cheap.
- Haven't bought it, just hanging out in the forum.

That question is almost as vacuous as your previous query:
Are Mac users dumber or smarter than PC users?
Any thoughts on this?
Pfft. Troll much?

Bought it for work/business

My boss paid 50%, my business paid the other 50%. The computer is mine though. The bill was a bit over $3000.

It was my first mac, but always loved using linux but was i thought this OS was not ready (imo) to be used as a workstation. I used it only for servers purposes. I read alot about Macs and was ready to learn something new that might revolutionize my IT world..and it did.

I work from outside the country (i travel a lot (lot lot lot)) and I'm in about every country where there is no Apple Store or Genius Bars.

I had soooo many problems for the first 4 months or so. Then Apple released the performance patch update..phewwww. I could become productive again.

I haven't seen genius bars, but i have seen smart bars ... The time i went, i ended up on the other side of the counter translating documents for them because they didnt know how to read the instructions to roll back my firmware to an older version. I was testing the method on one of their demos. Good times...

So glad they released that patch, it made my "lost in translation" world collapse and then there was light....until my fans kept dying on me...but thats a different story.

I still love you Apple.

I brought it for both my college years and paid factual writing.:D I hope it'll last me 4 or 5 years, by then I'll have enough money to buy another one. That is, if there are MBP's then... Steve might have decided that MBP's didn't arouse him at all anymore so they need to go:rolleyes:
