I just spent 2 hours on the phone with Apple Support, 1:45 of which was being on-hold...

While this seems crazy-long to me, I'm sure there are others with worse experiences, so I thought I'd see who hold the record here for 'longest-time-spent-on-phone' with Apple...

How long were you on the phone? How much of that was on hold?

After an hour I would surely hang up...who on earth would stay on hold for 5 hours, lol?

I've never called Apple, but I've waited over 2 hours for a genius bar appointment. Luckily, it was an Apple Store in a mall and I was able to go walk around

I would normally vote but this thread is sorta pointless as every situation over the phone is different for each Mac user.

I only have had to call them for the random shutdown issue that occurred with the first MacBooks last year. I think I was on hold for about 5 minutes and the conversation with them took about 20 minutes. They just quickly accepted that mine was suffering from the RSD issue and decided to send a repair box for me to ship it in.

I was surprised to hear a laid-back American voice when I called in. :)

3.28 hrs yesterday......courtesy of the newest kitty on da blok :)

real person that actually spoke english but talked to me like I was an idiot: 1hr 25min + on hold >>2hrs = nottazippoclue/no resolution :(

And yea, I'm :eek::mad: as hell too :p, in case anyone was wondering!

I was on the phone to apple support for over an hour, but the problem was not mine but theirs.

During a battery replacement scheme, I was to receive 2 new batteries for my Powerbook 12". On a tuesday I had a delivery of batteries. Unfortunately on Wednesday another 2 were delivered. This continued until Friday when I had 8 of them.

Being an honest person I called apple and tried to explain the situation. Getting them to understand was an effort as I was transferred all around the place. I was then told that this could not happen as new batteries are issued when the serial numbers of the old batteries are reported. Anyway to cut a long story short I managed to speak to somebody with at least some intelligence and arranged to send them back, after having to record in the battery boxes that they were new batteries and not the old ones that need to be destroyed. They didn't even say thanks. I should have sold them on ebay.

my longest call with apple care was about 15mins I think.
called apple care about 5 times.
I usually do all the trouble shooting tips before calling apple care so that most of the time the guy at the other end doesn't have any more advice.
I think this is time saving and is the least you can do before calling.
