Poll: Mouse, Trackpad or both?

Probably been explored before, but I am curious.....

I have long preferred using a mouse to a trackpad. I kind of like the Apple Magic Mouse, but not enough to pay $79 for one. In 13 years of Mac Mini ownership I am on to my third wired mouse. I don't remember what brand the first was (a freebie with my first Mac Mini in 2005). It lasted about three years. I replaced it with a basic $8.00 Logitech one which lasted about 8 years, when I got the same again.

Now requiring day to day portability, I recently acquired a MacBook Air, which of course has a trackpad. I got a mouse with a retractable cord to use with it, which I use most of the time. However, now I have found myself using the trackpad in conjunction with the mouse for some functions, such as scrolling.

What about ya'll, mouse, trackpad or both?

I use a trackpad for almost everything day to day but I prefer a mouse for photo and video editing.

I enjoy a mix of both. Trackpad is great for gestures, mouse for precision.

Both my MBP and my MBA are on stands connected to external monitors
I use the Magic Mouse for both, but have a Magic Trackpad next to my BT keyboard as well and use both

When I travel I take a small USB mouse to use as needed, but often just use the trackpad on the computer at that point

Yup, definitely prefer the precision of the mouse for photo editing. I don't do video.

When I tried trackpad alone I didn't like it. Now with both available side by side I have moved toward the middle ground, albeit using mouse more than the trackpad (thus the second choice).

Only 14 responses to the poll at this stage, with the trackpad side of the range being preferred over the mouse.

Not much to go on, but the trend so indicates folks favour the trackpad, with 11 on the trackpad side, and 6 on the mouse side, with just 3 in the middle.. Interesting that the strongest responses are at the extremes of each side, with 4 showing a strong preference for the mouse, and 6 having a strong preference for the trackpad.
