I went XR -> Pro Max and I believe even a non-Max XS -> Pro Max would be worth it for battery life alone.

My XR had amazing battery life, the Pro Max is even better.

Nearly a month with my 11 Pro how time flies, and it has definitely been a meanwhile and worthwhile upgrade from the Xs - really exceeded my expectations.

I had voted to keep my Xs. But now have an 11 Pro. OBTW while the Xs battery was good for me, the 11 Pro is even better.

I am resisting the urge (learning to). Upgrading the next cycle.

The struggle is real. I seem to be interested in the iPhone 11 Pro even though I know the XS is a darn fine phone. Battery and Camera improvements seem to be impressive but I also know when the new shiny one comes out I am gonna want that one as well...

Holding on to my XS (for now). I briefly upgraded to the 11 Pro, but returned it last weekend due to the screen. May give it another go in a week or so.

I understand your screen was underwhelming, but were there any true WOW factors to the upgrade?

Xs Max to 11 Pro - First observations focus on the weight / handling - very different and both are advantageous. Secondly the speed increase is clear in feel and sight - really like the new textured back glass too... camera to be tested next, but night mode already impressive in early testing.

The Xs (Max) had an excellent camera but poor battery life imo.. the 11 pro seems to have really moved forwards.

Was going to keep my XS until the 2020 iPhones (maybe 2021) release, but my battery is down to 85% was 88% just last month...I don’t even do much on the phone for it to be down that much.

Just this morning, I took it off the charger at 6:00am, by the time I got to work at 9:30am, it was already down to 60%. The only thing I did was use Runkeeper for about 10 minutes and check the transit app for when my train was coming. Once I was on the train, I had it on airplane mode.

The 11 Pro or Lavender 11 is looking might tempting now..

Those are all really good points. I am pretty interested in the low light camera as well. I did download the app NeuralCam and it does a decent job, but it takes a while to load and process the picture... not great trying to capture pictures of the little one😜

Went from XS Max to 11 Pro Max. Can't downsize, that's for certain, and I mainly upgraded for the cameras.

Full circle. XS Max to 11 Pro Max. 13 has been a disaster. Bought "my" XS Max (same configuration I had before the 11PM) last night on Swappa. Not sure what I'm going to do with the 11PM (the 11PM is on the IUP).

I upgraded from an XS to an 11. I couldn't care about OLED vs LCD and love the extra screen size.

The camera itself was a good enough reason for me to upgrade (I don't use telephoto). The additional battery life is a nice bonus.

I was underwhelmed with the upgrade from X to XS. However, going from the XS to 11 Pro has been fantastic. I'm absolutely loving the battery life boost, night mode, and wide angle lens.

I had a release day X and opted to skip the Xs cycle. I was initially planning on holding on to the X for another year, but got serious phone envy when my wife got the 11 Pro a couple of weeks ago, so I pulled the trigger on an upgrade. Thanks to the A13 chip, the 11 Pro is noticeably faster than the X, even when it comes to swiping from screen to screen. The additional 1GB of RAM is a welcome feature as well (I haven't had any app/page refreshes yet) and the new camera system is incredible, particularly the night mode. Oh yeah, let's not forget the battery improvements. All in all, it's definitely a worthwhile upgrade.

Agreed. With the X to XS upgrade it was more of "the pictures are a little nicer I guess". However, with XS to 11 Pro the night mode and ultra-wide shots are jaw dropping to me. Such a huge improvement.

IMO, the 11 Pro and Max are really advanced, well-balanced pieces of hardware. I'd say they're the best in years, and a more attractive hardware update than most of the reviewers gave them credit for initially, and feature updates like DeepFusion only make that more true. HOWEVER, and you know what's coming ;) , this excellent hardware is deeply let down by the s****y job that Apple has done with iOS 13. Really, if the phone won't do basic things like email, it doesn't matter how great the pix are. :(

I’m thinking about doing the same. How’s your battery life?

With the Xs battery life was great since I don’t play games or use any social media apps which I understand put the battery under stress.

I usually listen to quite a bit of music using Apple Music.

With the Xs I would end the day with around 40%. With the 11 it’s not rare that I still have 60%.

Has was it going back to the 5.8’? I thought about returning the 11 Pro for the Max, but not sure I want to this year (especially if Apple is releasing an OLED 6.1’ model in 2020).

I just picked up the 11 Pro in Midnight Green. Been a while since I had a dark iphone. Was tempted by the purple 11, but it’s a smidgen to big for me, especially if I want to use it one handed.

I upgraded to 11 Pro from Xs, one year gap, and I felt it was completely worth it. The battery of the 11 Pro actually carries you throughout the day without worrying of having to charge midway (unlike the Xs), the camera system feels all-new with so much potential in night mode and ultra wide, i'm a happy guy.

Getting a new phone also has the opportunity to change the colour, had a Silver XS which I did like (and still do) but upon now having the Space Grey 11 Pro, wow. I have to say, it is a classic, timeless beautiful phone, how the frosted glass on the back contrasts with the dark sides and front.

Anyone else upgrade from an Xs they got last year to an 11 series phone?
Not me. There is a current thread here with someone posting about regretting upgrading to the 11 pro max from an xs. I would be disappointed after the new-ness of the device wears off if I followed this track.

My xs max was bought cash, unlocked at the apple store so I prefer to wait for the next big change in design and features.

FYI, I took the plunge. AT&T had a $300 rebate (you have to be on an unlimited plan) for turning in a working 6s or newer device. I actually bought a 6s for $70 and turned it in for a $10 per month bill credit for 30 months. Honestly that was the deciding factor. My bill is actually smaller now... I went from the 5.8 to the 5.8. Screen looks great, camera is a slightly better upgrade, but I am impressed with the battery.

Part of me feels the FOMO of not going to the MAX, but dang, that is an unwieldy beast if I try to use it one handed. (We are selling my wife's XS Max and so I was playing around with it for a few days).

Screen/size is amazing for everything until you try to use it one handed.
