I've switched back and forth between 3 and Vodafone like 4 times now in the past year. I keep having a problem with Vodafone where I keep losing credit (I'm on prepay) and when I check with them they say I'm using large chunks of data when I'm not. I kept having this issue with 2 iPhone's and a Galaxy Nexus so the problem was obviously on their side.. Their customer service sucks. 3 are great and I get unlimited data but it's so effing slow..

How is it over there? Here in Ireland it's really slow (never over 3mbps, usually less than 1mbps compared to always over 4mbps and up to 7mbps with Vodafone)

Around about the same. I get 2-3mb/s at home, with 6mb/s being the highest I've seen around town, so on the whole on par with Vodafone. However it's much faster than my home WiFi (1mb/s with BT:() so 3's unlimited data & tethering sealed the deal when I jumped ship from Vodafone (my old limit was 1GB - I've managed to use over 6GB on 3 in the last month alone).

Just wanna say thanks to everyone who voted! Let's try to get everyone to vote! :D

AT&T. Grandfathered into unlimited data, family plan, unlimited texts, 6 mb/s download speed consistently over 3G. Verizon and Sprint both won't even get 1 mb/s download speed here. AT&T is simply dominant around here. Don't see myself ever considering going to another service.

And this is coming from someone who used to work for Verizon (yep I had AT&T while working there).

So verizon has better voice coverage but slower data speeds compared to at&t ?

AT&T only has faster data speeds because it uses HSPA+, which is sort of an enhanced 3G network for GSM companies. (Of course, since Verizon beat everyone to the REAL 4G market, TM and AT&T decided to trick everyone and rename their HSPA+ to "4G" even though it isn't 4G at all).

Since the iPhone 4S is now available on more carriers than any other iPhone, I'm curious as to find out what carriers everyone else uses?

I'm on Verizon. Always have been, probably always will be.

I'm on AT&T. Always have been, probably always will be.

To be honest, I would switch to AT&T, if they were any decent in my area. I wouldn't have said this back in like, 2007, but AT&T has really gotten it's reputation back to where it should be. It does have very AMAZING data speeds but the voice coverage in my area is completely utter crap, as well as the overall data coverage. Maybe if I go live in a location where AT&T has great coverage I'll switch, but Verizon is still very very fast and also very very good just as AT&T is. They're both great companies and I strongly support both.

Now as for T-Mobile and Sprint....

So what it seems like to me, is at this point AT&T in the States is still viewed as the premiere iPhone carrier.

I think it'll get a little tighter when VZW gets an iPhone with LTE but even then, I forsee AT&T continuing with its reputation as THE iPhone carrier to be with.
