My only complaint is why is the watch charger so long and the iPhone chargers so short?

Because people are still expected to connect their phones to their computer; and since the AW syncs wirelessly, its cable usually ends up plugged into the wall instead.

I’d get a short AW cable if I had a desktop instead of a laptop (or, what could work would be a stubby USB-to-charging puck-to-longer-cable-with-Lightning plug, if that makes sense; I could charge the AW when I’m sitting at my laptop, which is when I need it the least).

I have 2 chargers...1 on my nightstand and the other on my desk. I seldom use the one on the nightstand as I’m usually in my office when I take the watch off. The one on the nightstand is for the times I’m laying in bed and don’t want to get up to go put it on the other charger.

I too started off charging it in our bedroom, on my nightstand. Once I started using it for sleep tracking and silent alarm, I started charging it earlier in the evening.. usually during the quiet part of the evening when we are reading or watching TV before bed. I moved the charger to the home office on the main floor. I also top off the charger early in the morning while I'm taking a shower and getting dressed. For that it would be more convenient to have the charger in the bedroom. Maybe I need two?
