Secondary. My primary machine is a 2012 rMBP 15", and I'll probably update that one in 2016.

I'll mostly use it for bed-and-work-surfing-and-watching-movies-and-playing-emulators. :)

Secondary.
I have a desktop for my work, photo editing, and management of photo libraries. The MacBook will be used in my photography for editing/review while away from home. The only real drawback is needing to carry an SD card reader.

(however, I'm still on the fence -- thinking of waiting for a refresh. I've been an early adopter too many times)

Secondary. My iMac is my primary computer but I travel about 25% of the year and wanted a very portable Mac so I could work while I am out of town. My job only requires Office, email and Internet so this is perfect for me.

primary. It is actually going to replace my rMBP 2015. I dock it when I get to work and use clamshell mode. Unfrotunetly, until I get the display adapter, I will be using this tiny screen =/

At least it allows me to use the FANTASTIC keyboard. I really hope the new standalone keyboads adopt this look/feel.

This is an interesting poll to watch. Would have been nice to have a third "I'm not buying" option so the people who aren't buying don't cast votes for which they WOULD be purchasing as. That being said, still fun!

For me, it's my secondary machine. It will be my primary work computer, hooked up to a 27" monitor when in the office.

For my wife, it's her primary machine. She is coming from a previous generation maxed out MacBook Air so she'll lose a bit of horsepower, but she's not going down in RAM so it should be okay...

Dude, my wife uses her 6 plus as her primary computer lmao. She works on 3 different laptops from home all day, she works for American Express and handles large accounts. So she doesn't want to be on another laptop. Which i could understand.

I took her to the Apple store today to show it to her to see if she wanted one. I brought my 2015 MBPR along to show her the size difference. Her first words & i **** you not. "It feels cheap compared to yours" LMAO. She isn't a gadgets type person so forgive her. FINE BY ME! Ill pick her up a iPad Air as they are on sale and save SEVERAL HUNDREDS! More gadget money for me ;):D:p

This type of post is why the poll should be for only for owners. Plenty of other threads for the no thanks crowd to express themselves. They add nothing to the topic, but seem unable to help themselves;)

rMB secondary for work/commuting. Honestly, though, I'm not sure that anything I do on my rMBP can't be done on the rMB. I use my desktops for the heavy lifting.

Relax dude, its OK i was responding to someones quote. For that matter, why should anyone respond than? Its a "poll"

If it helps you............... This will be my secondary "family" machine for around the house, i ordered one 1.1/256GB from BB 45 mins ago. I have a 2015 MBPR. HAPPY? :)

primary... my retina pro will be my secondary if I don't give it away.

I work off an iMac, so this will be my secondary machine...for surfing the net, email, some spread sheets, word, and also playing sims. So far so good. I am someone who hammers at their keyboard, so I am really trying hard to work on it.

Secondary. Maybe tertiary. I have a 5k iMac and a 15" 2012 rMBP (seems really bulky and heavy to me) work computer. Then iPhone 6+ and iPad 3.

It will be my primary but not only computer. I moved into a smaller apartment and have been getting rid of stuff. My 27 inch asus monitor and other things to create more space in my apartment.

My other computer is for games and a server. It is a windows box custom and cheap (4790k 750ti) hooked up to the TV for now so as not to take up space. I use Mac for everything else. School work, remote into the windows machine for things, playing games with steam stream.

Interesting response and is also how I plan to use it. I'll keep the rMBP if I need a bigger screen or until more rMBs become available at the store and my wife trades in the rMBP.

My primary personal machine is a Late 2008 15" MacBook Pro. It's getting a bit long in the tooth, so I feel that the new MacBook will at least outpace it, if not other current machines. I figure, if I can just barely tolerate doing CPU-intensive tasks on that machine, it's not going to be *worse* on the new MacBook, right?

I also have a work-issued Lenovo ThinkPad X230, which I don't have admin rights to. It really got me used to the 12" size range for laptops; compared to that, my 15" MBP feels way too big and heavy to travel with. Now that I'm traveling more than I used to, I've been looking for a lightweight Macintosh laptop for personal (non-work) use.

I told myself a while ago that as soon as the MacBook Air got a retina display, I'd get one...that didn't quite happen exactly, but I anticipate the new MacBook meeting my needs. I also decided that if I ever got back into serious recording/editing, then I'd get a more powerful computer then. But for now, I can't wait for my rMB to ship!

I like the Sims, SIM City, Cities Skylines etc but will the rMB run them? I wasn't sure it could. Anywho this will be my secondary machine, my iMac being my workhorse .

Surprised at the dichotomy here. It's hard for me to imagine this being anything more than a secondary machine unless all you do is browse webpages and perhaps use the new Photos app. Good to see, though, I suppose.

It's going to be my only machine, replacing my Mid-2011 13MBA i5.

Incidentally, my 13MBA replaced a 2008 13BlackBook, which was a replacement (from AppleCare) for a 2005 12PowerBook.

All said and done, this will be more than fine for anything I throw at it!

Small problem though... it is sitting at my brother's house in Chicago, and I don't get to the US until the 30th! :(

So, until then, this is all I have experienced with my new MacBook:
