The poll on the OS thread was a little out of date. Kodiak includes X DPs, and Other X includes Server 1.x and Rhapsody DRs.

Jaguar is missing.
Mine are Jaguar and Tiger.
Why is Kodiak of all things a separate option then? Making Server 1.x a separate option would also have made sense IMO.Other OS X is all other Xs including Jaguar.

If I may offer a suggestion: consolidate AmigaOS and BeOS to "Other" given their presumably extremely low numbers (zero as of now), and add Server 1.x as a separate option. I'd also have added Mac OS 9 as a separate option and limited the "Classic Mac OS" option to only cover versions of the classic Mac OS prior to 9 because most people who run classic Mac OS probably run some version of 9.x, with 8.6 and 7.x having some fans too.Just curious to see the numbers on it, really, but that would have made more sense.

Re-enable VSync?10.4.8 because 10.5.x is tearing screens something fierce.
Agreed, Tiger is nice but it's getting very old now compared to running Leopard/Sorbet or a distro like Void.Leopard on any and all systems capable of running it, either by hook (native install) or crook (by some other method) even if it doesn't meet minimums.
Tiger on all other systems because it's as far as I can make them go.
I was done with OS9/Classic for my personal Macs in 2003.
[Some] Games run pretty poorly in Panther’s or Tiger’s Classic so there’s a case for a native OS 9 install.I think if anyone wants to run Classic Mac OS on a G3, G4... you should just use OS X and SheepShaver or Classic […]
Good point! Would Jaguar[Some] Games run pretty poorly in Panther’s or Tiger’s Classic so there’s a case for a native OS 9 install.
I think if anyone wants to run Classic Mac OS on a G3, G4... you should just use OS X and SheepShaver or Classic as the performance is very similar and you have access to OS 9 apps if you need to.
Well then I stand corrected.Honestly... not until the late G4s. Back when the iBook G3 was my only Mac, I tried to use Classilla on 10.3.9, and it was a lot slower with a lot more visual artifacting than just running 9.2.2. And that's at nearly 1GHz. Maybe Jaguar would be better, since people say it had a better Classic.
Personally, I like booting into 9.2.2 because it categorically runs faster and more responsive on my machines than X does; things happen basically instantly when I click on them with Oddball, whereas in Tiger and Sorbet, it definitely chugs even with 2GB and a R9800P, due to the single 450MHz G4. Putting Classic on top of that makes it even worse.
Well then I stand corrected.
Visual artifacting sounds strange, I believe the G3 Snow's had GPU problems with the R7500M which might of been your problem. Tiger is where OS X became "as good as OS 9" in my opinion. OS 9 does feel faster for me on a 867MHz G4 but never owned a G3 so don't know about that.
Yep.Would Jaguaror Cheetah or Pumahave a better Classic mode.
