Pop-ups taking over my laptop

I have no idea what happened but……every time I load a screen this pops up:Congratulation you've won flashing non stop then an additional add appears as well. It is at the point that so many adds are on the screen I can not see the content at all. Please Help!

Sounds like you picked up some malware. What kind of sites have you been viewing? Try using Clam X if on a Mac. If using Windows, try Malwarebytes.

i don't have any problems with my mac, but i have been wanting a virus or malware checker just to be on the safe side. Is that clam x for that and where can you download it at from a safe source?
