POP3 access to Yahoo Mail?

Is there anyway for me to get pop3 access to my Yahoo account without the need to pay for the yahoo plus service? I would preferably like a free solution as I only use my Yahoo account for personal use.

I am currently using Mac OS X and would like to set this feature up on the Mail app, however, if possible, would also like to set up on my Windows machine.

I have found a program called YPOPS, but cannot find a mac version downlaod. Also, i have read on a website that I am unable to send email using this software as it does not support SMTP ....

Any ideas on how this can be done?

You could try http://www.freepops.org/en/ they do have a Mac version.

Yahoo is supposedly rolling out either free POP or IMAP access, and many new accounts already have this.
