My new 15" mbp is less that 48 hours old, and the speakers have just blown, i haven't listened to anything over about half way, and have only used this computer for less than 6 hours. I'm not very happy, i need this computer for school, if i bring it to apple how long will it take for them to fix it, and will they charge me anything, because they better not. thanks

Sounds like it's not fit for purpose, I'm sure it'll be fixed for free, (even if it's on full volume with the songs turned up in iTunes ;) ).

This sounds silly but just humour me on it.

    Mute then unmute the sound.

Shut down and remove the battery.

Replace battery and boot back up.

Just see if that sorts it, I used to get a problem with my iMac, something to do with drivers I always assumed but never found the reasons,

If it is within the 14 day return policy, you can request they replace it with a new one. Just factor in the time it takes for them to transfer your data to the new computer and you're good to go.
