Popular game Goat Simulator has been named Apple's App of the Week, and as a result, it's available for free for the next seven days. This is the first time Goat Simulator has been available at no cost since it was introduced in September of 2014.

In Goat Simulator, you take control of a goat, and the idea is to lay waste to the environment around you, doing as much damage and causing as much chaos as you can.

Goat Simulator is the latest in goat simulation technology, bringing next-gen goat simulation to YOU. You no longer have to fantasize about being a goat, your mobile dreams have finally come true!

It has been compared to an old-school skating game, except instead of being a skater, you're a goat, and instead of doing tricks, you wreck stuff. more! When it comes to goats, not even the sky is the limit, as you can probably just bug through it and crash the game.
Coffee Stain Studios, the developers behind Goat Simulator, have released several other games in the Goat Simulator series, including Goat Simulator GoatZ, Goat Simulator Waste of Space, and Goat Simulator MMO Simulator.

Goat Simulator requires an iPhone 4s or later, iPad 2 or later, or 5th generation iPod touch or later.

Goat Simulator is available for both the iPhone and the iPad and can be downloaded for free from the App Store. [Direct Link]

This will outpace Mario Run in downloads in the next 24 hours.
They just took the wind out of their sails and sales.
And the goat can run offline to boot!

This is my secret wish.

Nintendo spends millions in marketing & development launching this game only to be outpaced by a stupid Goat Simulator game.

Here's why I think Nintendo screwed the pooch on this:
  • In-app Purchases can't be shared in a household like app purchases can so Dad can't buy it and share it through the entire family. Guess what can be shared? a 3DS Cartridge which families have shared for years
  • No Offline access
  • Asking (requiring?) a Nintendo Account to Play
  • No landscape mode (personal opinion, I'm sure they made portrait mode work well)

Thank god they don't have in-app purchases for anything more than the additional levels. if they make you buy coins or other BS, then they're no better than every other freemium app out there.

Downloading goat simulator out of protest.

Was about to download and then this happened -

And then people wonder why this new generation is so violent and sadistic...
Studies have already proven that video games don't actually make you violent. Go to bed Grandpa Iceman :D

This is a great game. It simulates what goats do in everyday life when we're not looking(think toy story) and I find that fascinating.
Agreed! It's like we're playing Animal Planet..with just a Goat.

I won't lie when I say that Goat Simulator is probably the worst game I've bought on Steam (from a list of 60 games). How does it get called app of the week I have no idea. Unless people REALLY like stupidity like this.

Its a clever way to make Mario Run look great, no matter how you disliked.

- My god, I hate this Mario game! Let me download another game... let me check... hum, there is this game called Goat Simulator! Let me play... NOOOOOOO! This is the worst EVA! Where's Mario again?

I've picked this game up long time ago and if you're into some brainless time wasting it really is a lot of fun.
Problems begin when people take *anything* in this game too serious.
It's hilarious, stupid, incorrect and often offensive. Love it!
If you don't like this for any reason, just delete the game and you will be automatically issued a full refund this week.

Just imagine that it's on sale for the sole reason of the devs not making any money for a week.
