Popular PlayStation game Flower, created by thatgamecompany, made its way to iOS devices in a surprise release this morning. Flower, first released in 2009, was published on iOS by Annapurna Interactive.

In Flower, gameplay consists of controlling gusts of wind with the aim of blowing a flower petal around the world and picking up additional flower petals as you go. As flower petals swirl and gust through the game, the world experiences small changes, like a windmill activating or a field of dead flowers coming to life.

As our sister site TouchArcade points out, Flower is meant to be a casual, relaxing "experience" game that's almost more like art. There is no text or dialogue in Flower, and the sole aim of the game is to make players happy while they play it.

The company behind Flower, thatgamecompany, was recently seen on stage at Apple's September 2017 event to show off its most recent title, Sky. Sky is a romantic multi-player flying game where players soar through the world and work together to uncover new areas to explore. It's coming soon to iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV.

Flower is available today and can be downloaded from the App Store for $4.99. [Direct Link]

This is one of my favorite games of all time and I encourage everyone to play it. Preferably on an actual PlayStation, but I suppose this will have to do.

I played it on my ex boyfriends playstation and loved it

Loved the PlayStation version, might get this version too.

and it is £ 4.99 in UK store.
because Apple thinks 5 Pounds = 5 Dollars.

f*ck.me.

You think that's bad - my bank charges "5" in the base currency for wire transfers... whatever it is. Sending money in pesos? 5 pesos please. Sending money in dollars? 5 dollars please.

WTAF? (That's more than a 17:1 upcharge, in case you were wondering...)

Tell your bank you will only do business in Vietnamese Dong.
Heh. 5 dong is probably $0.0001 or something. When I was in Vietnam last year I don't think I even remember seeing a coin that went that low, I don't really remember that well though.

Add 20% VAT and it becomes £4.50
And add hedge against Brexit.

Don't forget that most US users will have to pay their local sales tax of up to 10% on top of the $5. The 5 quid already includes VAT.

I'm laughing because a topic on a rather nice, simple game has turned to taxes and exchange rates.

Thank goodness for free association.

It's €5.49 in Europe.

Meanwhile you enjoy vastly better TV, healthcare, and cars.

Most, but not all of us. ;)

There is nothing funny about double taxation. o_O:confused::mad:

One of the first games I bought and played on my PS4, and probably one of the first games I’d actually find playable on the Apple TV. Oh man, if it can render in 4K and HDR... killer app right there!

Hahaha. As an American living in Britain, wages are stagnated for over a decade and housing prices have gone sky high. Even the food companies realize this and make smaller portions of ketchup so you have to buy more bottles - but they keep the cost the same. Apple charging the same for a game is least of the problems.
