Porn in Microsoft's Seadragon!

There were several explicit photos that would be considered pornography to anyone with half a brain stem. A few showing oral sex, intercourse, semen, etc. But the majority of it was mostly nude art and/or just nude pictures of women.

I have a screenshot but I probably shouldn't post it for obvious reasons.

Exactly. I haven't looked yet, but is this "hardcore" porn? If not, then it's likely just art. There are many professional photography websites that have nude photos and this is socially acceptable and it is not porn.

Even if it is porn, what's the BFD? Porn has been available through Safari since day one.

I wouldn't call multiple shots of chicks taking it all in art.

Ya know, this thread is a big steaming pile of "Who Cares". Yay I can use Seadragon to view porn...woo hoo. I get the idea of protecting young kids, but surprisingly more often than not they know more about this stuff than their parents do. It's just a new generation.

Back before the Internets, people grew up looking at nasty African bush in National Geographic, and then it was finding those great reel-to-reel pornos, or the audio porn, and then VHS came out...yeah!

We're going to raise a nation of kids who don't know what sex is or what boobies are. Ah who am I kidding, most parents want it that way to protect their innocent Johnny or Julie.

Soapbox much? I don't think any of us were inferring that this was so horriable, I did infer someone is in trouble and who knows if that's the case. I'll be quite honest with you, the main reason why this may stir something up on the MS side is it was pretty obvious of the whopping 10 shots I saw that not all of the ladies were over 18. If I have children the last thing I'd want is to expose them to that type of porn or any porn for that matter. Kids should learn about sex, but not by viewing multiple pictures of chicks doing the things they were doing.

I understand that when you accessed the application "Seadragon" you found that you could access porn and this is not right, as one of the premises of the App Store was no porn. It's not like porn isn't hard to find on the internet.

I understand that you have some concern regarding some users posting their pornographic pictures onto the "Browse Photosynth" section of the application "Seadragon Mobile". I can certainly understand your concern in this matter and you are correct that pornography is against our terms for application developers.

I'm sorry to learn that this item did not meet the standard of quality you have come to expect from the iTunes Store. I have submitted this item for investigation. Apple takes the quality of the items offered on the iTunes Store seriously and will investigate the issue with this item, but I can't say exactly when the issue will be resolved.

Too some degree, you are correct. There is some evidence that overly restricting access to sexual imagery can be unhealthy, especially for adolescents.

What matters is the nature of the content; specifically, a lot of porn at this point in time has violent tones to it. If you want to understand why that is look up "Two-factor theory of arousal."

If users are free to post whatever they want, then unhealthy pornographic imagery can be posted and then viewed by those who have not yet built a framework for what is healthy sexual activity.

Who cares if there is access to porn in the app. Everyone knows you can get porn through the internet. I doubt most people thought this app had a range of content that parallels the internet. Given that it does have such a range of content, users should be made aware that such content is available with some sort of disclaimer.

The issue to the companies, Apple and Microsoft, is that if porn appears on applications they created it appears as if they are the providers of it. Why do you think you don't see an adult section of movies in the iTunes store?

There's a huge hole in this theory. By this logic, then the Safari Web Browser should be deleted, because I can find porn on this application that apple created, so they are a provider of it.

The hole may be that they are both applications but one is a general web browser that receives information from servers around the world and the other receives information from specific servers owned by Microsoft.

Thsi is exactly it. Don't get me wrong, I love Apple and the iPhone as much as the rest of you, but why try to hold Microsoft liable for its users actions.

Is calling a movie art ridiculous? The art may not be suitable for families, but it could definitely be considered "art."
