I wanted to forward a port for ichat at my school, but i cant access the port mapping page because i need a password after typing the router ip. Any way to forward a port without doing this? I tried doing the terminal trick and it said it worked, but...nope..

Do you mean on a router you have no control over? Doing that sort of thing is illegal (my best guess), especially since it is password protected so any regular John/Jane Doe cannot modify its config.

Why do you want to open the iChat port? If in HS then your pretty much SOL unless you can get in tight with the Tech person that runs the network. If your on a college campus then maybe send an e-mail to your helpdesk people and see what they say.
