Portable charger and USB hub

If I were to get a portable charger (6000mah) and a 4 port USB hub, would the charging become slow? If I only plug in two devices, such as my iPhone 4s and my Tablet.

Not sure about yours but I found portable chargers to be quite slow.

Mine is fast, very fast. But I'm worried the USB hub is going to make it slow, even if not all the connections are being used

Nope, that's depend upon how many device you attached for charging, if you charging two devices the speed is accordingly that. but advising you to only connect maximum two devices not more than two coz its became really slow.

^Exactly. USB shares it's serial connection with every device on that bus, thus, Universal Serial Bus.

I wouldn't exceed the manufacturers specification meaning if you need to charge multiple devices, get a charger with two USB connections.

A usb hub is not a simple power splitter, and I don't think most will work when not plugged into a computer.

I have one of these, and it worked great with android, apple and a very picky blackberry phone that didn't work with any other charger.

Yup. USB hubs get power from external power and not through the USB port.
