With a car power adapter couldn't you take it on the road?

just an idea...

I.

Alot further that I was willing to take my idea. Though a 2" thick tablet iMac has it possibilities on the road. To be honest I would rather keep my PB 12" as an accessory that i am willing to pay the price to lug around for my photography. For my everyday work (ad design and the web) a portable iMac g5 would suit me just fine.

a quick google search brought this up, with some modifications it could work for you

Perhaps a lot of modifications. Specifically, don't think I'd trust those things to hold my iMac without some serious structural changes... ;)

100 mm mounts?

Sorry to say that some of us are "power-tooled disadvantaged". It cost me about $8,000 to "fix" what I did wrong with the kitchen, not to mention about a year for the air-handler to catch up. :D

Some joking aside, I have other projects that I could spend time on. That is why I was looking for a quick ready made solution, only to wait for a more elegant solution.

I believe the iMac uses 100 mm mounts??

Maybe a solution like this one - looks like you could buy two mounting plates and just leave one of the attaching plates on the iMac all the time.

The plates could be mounted on anything (this is set up for walls - that's why it's cheap) but still allow a quick disconnect to be transported to a second location.

This site appears to have tons of other options - this is what i turned up quickly.

Unless you are using a 220 volt apparatus (washing machine, radial arm saw, etc.), 110V plugs are pretty much all standard in the US.

Yeah... in houses

the site said it can hold 25+ pounds, i figure if you could make a hole in the back for the cords, and depending upon the screen size, one for the ports, hell get two and put them side by side and let them both hold the mac, and just have to figure out a hole/mod for the ports and if you have bt just use wireless kb and mouse
