Hey All,
I am going to be shooting some portraits here in the near future for a modeling congest. Its not super high profile, but it is a start for me. I am fairly new to the DSLR side of photography and am looking for some suggestions as far as portraits go. My current setup is a nikon d50, with 18-55 and 70-300 lenses. i have both tripod and monopod for stability if needed. I was looking for suggestions on techniques, CHEAP lighting(through means of like positioning lights, not neccessarily flashes, my budget isnt huge at all), styles, positions, editing(aperture/photoshop) and any other information you guys deem pertinent. any and all advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Lighting is not for the faint of heart. If you can shoot out of doors. Use the widest aperture in order to control the background.
