I was playing with smart folders and noticed a possible bug. My goal was to search all files in my home directory that were created in the last N number of days, where N equals 5 or 10, and then eliminate all NewsFire files from the results. I performed the following steps.
Further, I can successfully eliminate the NewsFire files this way without the "Created Date" filter using either a different filter, or none at all. Searching Google for this bug yielded a similar bug except with the "label number" field.
Does anyone know if this is a known issue, or perhaps I am doing something wrong here. I have tried this with multiple filetypes with the same result.
- Select Command + f to begin search
- Select Home Directory
- Choose "Created date" "within last" "N" "days"
- This produces several thousand results.
- Select Option Click ...
- Leave "Any"
- Choose "Filename" "ends with" ".NewsFireItem"
- Eliminates all files except NewsFireItems
- Switch "Any" to "None"
- Eliminates all files. There are verifiable .txt, .py, .pyc, etc. files in the original results.
