Is there a way to keep the wi-fi connection alive/active even when the phone is turned off (ie standby mode)?

At work, in order to log onto the secure wi-fi network, you need to have WPA (username and password) which the iphone does not support. So there is a guest wi-fi access that we can use. The problem is that in order to use that, you have to go through 3 pages of license agreements, and put in a email address to use the access. This is not a big deal if I had to do it 1-2 times a day, but every time I turn the iPhone off (standby mode) then turn back on, i have to go through all those screens and put in a email address AGAIN to use the network. I assume in standby mode, the iPhone will turn off the wi-fi. Is there any way to keep the connection "active"? (without hacking into the iphone)
thanks for any input

use $ in front on the wpa key

Hmm this does not seem to work. The secure Wi-fi network at work uses WPA Enterprise to use the system. The iPhone can not handle this to my knowledge.

Does anyone know of a way to keep the wi-fi connection active even when the iphone is in standby mode.
thanks
