Apple knows what they are doing. They will give us another good product no matter the specs.

Maybe or maybe they have decided to milk the fanboy base for a little more $$$$$ and milk 'em again next year with the CPU and memory upgrade we were hoping for this year.

When all is said and done, Apple is looking to maximize profit first. It's just business.

A lot of people are going to be lining up and storming the doors on release day. Not me. I'll be waiting a couple of weeks to see some user reviews. I want to know how A5X and Retina play together before I lay out $600 plus.

Do you honestly think Apple would release a product that wasn't capable of sustaining itself in this day and age? The international media attention on their products is massive, they'd never risk their reputation by putting out a piece of crap.

If the retina is double the pixels does this equate to needing double the ram or not? I just hope that if it is 1GB of ram it is enough for now and future games and apps. With higher pixel pictures and txt taking up more room and probably needing more ram i just hope the ram is only just adequate to force us to upgrade again!?

(us as in me anyways as the iPad 1 runs out of memory in some apps that have photos as memory is used up and then the app crashes)

Double resolution graphics use FOUR times the RAM not just 2. But don't worry, graphics aren't the only thing RAM is used for. 1GB is enough.

i am not sure why people say it does not matter. just trust apple. well, the ipad 1 had way too little ram, and the ipad 2 camera is almost useless, even for my main use of photographing receipts.

processor speed is a big deal for me, and it's one reason why i remain interested in android. four cores and memory matter when you are (for example) flipping through a pdf file and waiting forever for pages to render. asus has made battery life work for its device.

the display is a bigger deal to me, but if i feel like the processor is too slow, i'll be happy to give android a try. apple needs to keep ahead of the competition, and i am worried that this a5x thing won't be what they need. we won't know until march :)

I will have to wait and see the storage options before deciding on whether ipad 3 is a disappointment.

Looking at replacing my macbook with an ipad, so will need at least 32G, 64G would be nice. Plus I do plan on keeping any ipad with that amount of storage for a while, I don't upgrade on a yearly basis and was hoping for an A6 to ensure support for future functionality.

If retina display is all that is new with the ipad 3, then I'll probably will limp along with the MacBook for another year. E.G. don't care about LTE, siri, camera, bigger battery/slight processor bump/bigger case just to support the display. Seems like a stop-gap release; should of been more case design considerations when going to retina display and bigger battery.
