Just noticed that the iTunes Festival in London has no acts on September 16 and September 19. Does this hint at a possible iPhone Launch event on Tuesday 16 with a retail release the same week on Friday 19..?

Normally the friday the same week of the announcement, Apple site will allow for pre-orders.
EDIT: usually midnight pacific time.

Thank you, first time I'm preordering. Last few phone releases have either been (with B being more common):

A. had to upgrade beforehand due to previous phone not working/breaking

or

B. wasn't eligible for an upgrade
