Anyone think Apple will do a MBP specs bump for end of year/ holidays?

I think it is highly unlikely. They need new processors that are only available in low power variants. Maybe they could refresh the non-touch 13". But refreshing the entire line will have to wait until mid 2018 or later.

Doubt it, Quad CPU with Iris pro graphics will be the last to come out. So March/April timeframe. Or knowing apple they will wait for the 10nm chips to come out.

There are no CPUs suitable for an update... there is the new Kaby Lake refresh with quad-core low-wattage models, but it comes with the low-end GPU only and Apple won’t use that. Unless Apple surprises everyone and goes with AMD mobile CPUs. Mobile Vega is pretty much a given in the 15” MBP.

Given? When? 2018?

Whenever there will be a refresh... I’m assuming that apple sticks with AMD since they already committed to Vega in the iMac and there is nothing new on NVIDIA front. Volta will come out somewhere early 2018, but it will probably be high-end first again...

If they do anything, maybe bringing in a non touchbar 15” Pro to replace the lingering 2015 model at the low end, though I think they will probably wait until next year so they can use a 28W quad core U series with iris plus graphics in the absence of a 47W H series with iris pro...

Tim Cook is CEO after all, so many versions of Apple products. Not surprised if they release a 15'' nTB. One of the versions I'd actually like to see though. Especially if the 15' nTB is as powerful as TB version and not lower specs like 13'' nTB.
