I was just on best buys web site and the touches are 8gb reg price $279.99 and 16GB 379.99. Any know what going on havn't boughten one yet but am in the next couple weeks.

i think they lowered the price by $20 to offset the cost of the 1.1.3 apps.

Thats the $20 reduction price so you can spend that $20 on the apps, when the new ipod touches come out with the apps built in, the price will go back to the regular price. Or so I read..

WOW Rascal I really appreciat the rude comments since i'm new here and havn't read much about themoff setting the price for the new apps.

Amazon has them at $359 (10% off list) right now. Same deal they had after Thanksgiving for the x-mas sales.

Yea, you can find them 40 bucks off in a lot of places. They will be 1.1.2, but even if you pay 20 to upgrade, its still 20 cheaper. I just got one from bestbuy yesterday, but I had to have them do a price match of their website "in-cart" price of 360 for the 16GB (they wanted 380 in the store). Hell, if you are lucky, you may even get them to price match a new one with 1.1.3 with the old 1.1.2 discounted prices if you can find a store that has them in stock already.

So, when the existing stock of 1.1.2 loaded ipt's that are in the distribution chain have been sold, the price will go back up by $20?? That should be super easy and convenient for retailers to manage. Its simply a price drop.

CSKY thats exactly what I was thing I thinkyou hit the nail on the head with that explaination.
