considering the longest time between updates on the MacBook Pro was 10 months and ten months from the April release is February, I'd say yes there will be a 2011 Q1 release

i'm planning on getting a sandy bridge MBP as well. february seems pretty likely, if not a bit sooner

How on earth would you benefit from liquid metal casing?
