Possible to dissable "dong" ?

    ... well last semister i found this to be a problem a lot.. the night before i would shutdown after listening to loud music...

    then the next day in class when i first turn on my macbook, the "dong" is crazy loud... i really would like to just rid of the sound all together...

    anyone know how?

    You can disable it with software, but it's much simpler to either mute before going to bed, or to simply put the comp to sleep instead of shutting down. I'd go with the latter.

    Mute your computer before you turn it off. You don't want to disable it completely incase you ever run into problems with your computer, the noise actually alerts you to your computer passing a hardware test on boot. If there was an issues with your computer it can make different noises to alert you.
