Possible to do this?

Crazy idea here...could I hook up my miniDV camera via FireWire to a MacBook or MacBook Pro and film something, have the computer put the footage onto a disk, and stream the footage live to someone via a website (I have a .mac and my sister has her own domain and server and all) or iChat to someone halfway across the world?

Clarify--how is putting something on a disc "stream[ing] the footage live?" If it's recorded, it's no longer live. Or am I missing something?

yeah...are you going to use it like an isight or a camera that records then broadcasts?

Yes, that's what I want to do. Record the footage from my miniDV camera to my mac, and simultaneously broadcast it somehow to someone halfway across the world.
