Two days ago, I jailbroke my iPad for the first time on iOS 4.2.1. I only wanted to use one app (BTStacks Mouse), but it seems as if that app isn't compatible with 4.2.1 right now. I really don't have any other need for the jailbreak, but I would still love to use BTStacks Mouse. So, is it possible to restore my iPad to 4.2.1 unjailbroken status, and, then, downgrade to another firmware where BTStacks Mouse is compatible? I would be willing to give up multitasking and all the other benefits of iOS4 right now if I could use a mouse w/ my iPad

Possible? YES

Can you do it? that depends,.,... Did you save your SHSHs for 3.2.2 or 3.2.1 when Apple were still signing them? If yes..them you are good to go.

If you don't have SHSHs, them it is not Possible to downgrade you are stuck on 4.2.1.

If you don't know what SHSHs are, or you got your iPad recently with 4.2.1 already on it, then chances are you don't have them

If you want to know more, you can read this thread

Jailbreak FAQ and commonly use Terminology + Guides

As a note for the future, for anything that required modifying the manufactures software or hardware, always read, read, read a lot before doing it, check developers website to make sure that software is updated and compatible with your version or OS and hardware, ask question on forums like this one "before" doing it.

Ah, I see. No big deal. I'll just restore back to 4.2.1 and wait until BTStacks is compatible and working.

Thanks for the reply and info :)
