Hey guys, I have the SHSH blobs for 4.2.1 and 4.3.1.

I'm currently on 4.3.2. Is it possible to downgrade to 4.3.1 custom firmware from 4.3.2?

I'd like to know if this is possible so I don't have to restore custom firmware after downgrading.

Thanks.

Yes, as long as you got blobs for 4.3.1 you can create a custom JB ipsw and restore to it.
Either run TU TSS server or have your hosts edited to point to cydias server for the check.

Okay so I tried it...

Needless to say it didn't work...I actually ran into a bunch of problems.

I used the TSS server in tinyumbrella. That worked like a charm, I was able to downgrade to the custom firmware after entering DFU.

Problem: I can't exit out of DFU after install. I used tinyumbrella's "Fix Recovery" thing, but all that does is kick it to a white screen which does nothing.

So then I tried to restore to a stock 4.3.1. That didn't work either. Gave me a 1013 error.

So then I just tried a straight up restore. That worked, restored my phone to 4.3.2.

Any pointers on what went wrong?

Thanks guys.

Oh sorry Applejuiced, I forgot to mention I used snowbreeze to enter the pwned DFU state and that's what lead me to my first scenario =\

Downgrade to 4.2.1 and use GP to kick you out of recovery mode. Downside of downgrading: call failed appears right after a person hangs up.

Hmm...I can't downgrade to 4.2.1, I have the 4.10.01 baseband (courtesy of 4.3.1).

I've tried it again, still didn't work; stuck at DFU.

I guess it's back to 4.3.2 and waiting for an untethered for me =(.

Yes, you can. Use GP to kick out of DFU/Recovery mode.

And before you try to restore to 4.2.1, add this to your hosts file:

74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com

Did you have to go into pwned DFU mode to downgrade to 4.2.1 or is a regular downgrade good enough?
