I was wondering if it is possible or if anyone has experience editing the GTX 285 Mac edition bios for increased Clocks?

There are many PC side Nvidia Bios editors out there. the question is, do these work? and is there a Mac version to do this? thanks in advance. Mine arrives Friday....

I tried editing the clocks in the BIOS a few weeks ago and got a screen full of snow under OS X. I think there might be conflicting clock stuff in the EFI part of the ROM, but do not really understand what went wrong. Very interested to know how to deal with this.

Hello zepharus!
Please send me your firmware from the GTX 285 Mac Edition. I will try to fix it.

Why not just rip it, zip it up and post it here so other who wanna install a GTX 285 in their machine can simply flash a PC version and download your firmware?

I have to guess that you didn't catch the thread on this.

I have tried it with 4 cards now.

The ROM file is 156K...

2 of the cards had chips of 128K

2 of the cards had chips of 64K.

The ROM doesn't fit on the chips...you have to solder on a 256K SOIC-8 EEPROM.

So far, the word "simply" doesn't connect to these cards.

It is far better to use Netkas Injectors and grab another Nvidia card . (7300 for EFI32, and GT120 for EFI64)
