The Smart Keyboard for my 9.7 IPP is beginning to fall apart. The fabric is separating along the seams as if the glue they used is no longer effective and the ends are fraying. It still functions normally, but it's quite tattered. Has anyone been able to get a warranty replacement for the Smart Keyboard for these kinds of issues? I do have Apple Care + on the iPad, not sure if that means anything.

Doesn't hurt to just make an apple appointment at the genius bar if there is one close by. I have had many things replaced for free by nice geniuses.

I had my first one replaced for free under warranty when it did the same thing within 4-5 months of purchase. The second one (my current) has lasted over 18 months but is now pretty ratty but now outside of warranty. The sides have completely separated and it’s honestly pretty gross. But it still works like a charm! Still, I took it to an Apple Store to see if I could get it replaced and they said no. They said they didn’t even stock keyboards for the 9.7” any more.

I bought a new ASK on ebay for about $120-ish and it’s easy to forget what they were like when they were new. But that one’s not for me. It’s for my wife when I gift her my current Baby Pro when the new ones (hopefully) come out next month.

My understanding was that Apple quietly extended coverage on these keyboards because they're so unreliable, but I've never seen any actual documentation to that effect.

I always thought accessories for a device were covered if the device was covered?

I once bought a time capsule from eBay and then had it replaced because I had an iMac under AppleCare.
