Possible to have external speakers and iPhone headset hooked up at the same time?

I'm running a Late 2012 Mac mini.

I like to listen to music on external speakers and make calls using google voice/skype using the iPhone headset.

I have been manually unplugging and plugging in the external speakers and iPhone headset from the audio out port as I move between listening to music and making calls.

Is there an easier way to do this - maybe with some sort of cheap switcher?

Those won't work for the OP's purpose since he wants to use the iPhone headset for Skype. Neither of those switchers support the 4-pin 3.5mm mic+headset capability, they're 3-pin so they will work for sound only but not mic.

I haven't seen a similar product that supports mic from the headset. Theoretically it could be done but a quick Google search doesn't find any on the market.

You could buy a USB sound "card" and plug your speakers into that and them jus switch between the onboard and the USB sound within OSX depending on which you want to use...

DAH! I have a Soundfreaq (bluetooth speaker) that I use in the bathroom. I can just move it to the mini.
