I know this may sound crazy and forgive my ignorance but is it possible create say a song/album without any musical instruments (maybe a microphone) entirely on my MacBook Pro? If so is Logic Pro the way?

Of course it is (if you by musical instruments mean actual hardware/acoustic instruments and not software instruments). I would start with Garageband, which is free in the app store, or maybe even pre-installed on your mac. Then go and look at a couple of tutorials. Logic might be the way to go in the future, but as it is quite expensive it might be overkill to start with. You can always import your Garageband projects into Logic if you decide to upgrade.

thank you!

Yes. You don't need instruments, mics or an audio interface to make music. You might need those things if you want to record real instruments. But otherwise no. The laptop is the modern musician's instrument, and you don't need anything other than a DAW to make music, and that's where most people start. A lot of people grab sounds from their phone as well these days, so as long as you have a laptop and a phone, you don't need anything other than the software.

Start with Garageband and go from there (check out the demo projects) and use musical typing to turn your keyboard into a music keyboard. Even big artists do this, so don't be shy! For a semi-serious newcomer, a MIDI keyboard and Logic sets you up for a good while.
